Community Roots China (CRC) works with underprivileged children in 12 provinces around China. Our programmes include the One Heart Gift Bag, which gives bags to primary aged children, the Bookworm programme, which provides books for schools, and the Educational Sponsorship, which pays the fees for students to attend high school or university.

Community Roots China founded in 2011, is an organization that builds bridges between Chinese communities and corporations operating in China, by creating corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

We are a registered CSR agency providing corporate clients with proven charitable programs to call their own as well as the training and assistance to implement them.

Shanghai Rende Foundation is the Chinese charity partner of CRC. Rende Foundation was initiated by Amity Foundation (Nanjing) and is the second non-governmental grant-making foundation in Shanghai.  Corporations working with CRC will be able to receive an official donation receipt or juan zeng fapiao for their CSR program. To finance pre-identified CRC projects, Rende Foundation will accept online donations through AliPay.

Corporate giving is still in its infancy in China. The world's largest GDP, as a whole, gave 15.3 billion USD in charitable donations in 2014, less than the 17.77 billion USD that corporations alone gave in the US. Community Roots China (CRC) is an organization working to develop this area by engaging companies to sponsor disadvantaged Chinese children to get high school and university educations.
