In rural areas of China, 80% of families only have 1 children's book, or none at all. Most primary schools in the countryside also do not have libraries. Yet we know that reading from an early age is crucial to the development of literacy skills, instilling reading habits, spurring imagination, and broadening a child's mind.
Our Bookworms program provides interesting, age appropriate reading materials to a rural school in need of a library, in order to expand the children's minds and cultivate a habit of reading.
